A funny thing happened recently: I met a lovely reader of Style by Santina (Hi, Jesica!), who mentioned that a recent outfit seemed way too warm for the rather late (but very welcomed) summer that has hit San Francisco. I laughed and confessed that I’m generally a week behind in my posts, so this outfit is from the very start of what felt like actual summer weather.
A bit dubious of the weather report, I was reluctant to give up my layers. I paired this striped dress with my sleeveless trench, and while it turned out to be warm enough to go without it, I was more than happy to keep it on after a big brunch accompanied by a few Micheladas. (Maybe I should have considered my food baby when I chose horizontal stripes.) I kept the rest of the look simple, adding gold accessories, a patent bag and nude wedges.

I think this is a great look - that trench is a wonderful piece! I'm also about a week behind on posts - I just don't have time to format photos and write a post every day so I get about a week's worth of outfits on my camera and then get all the photos off and format them

I'm a sucker for stripes so this outfit gets a 5-star rating from me! :) And I LOOOOOOOVVEEEEEE that MBMJ purse. I've never seen one in those colors. SUPER ADORABLE! :D

Love love this outfit - so simple + chic. Stripes paired with military inspired pieces are some of my favorite looks!
And I have the same issue with my outfits - I have about four outfits that are so summer inspired yet to post.. yet it's September! The weather here has been so unusual for this time of year, typically much cooler than it is.
XO
I really like this outfit. The 'simple' outfit really contrasts well with that mural. I feel like you could wear nothing but that trench dress and shoes and you would look faaaaaaaaabulous dahlin because they are great classic pieces.
I'm such a fan of this outfit because I'm a fan of stripes...and you! I never did get a sleeveless trench this season :( It is such a good layering piece. I love this wall art too, you always shoot your photos in the best locations.
I love the sleeveless trench!
LOVE this! I need that trench in my life!
Love this outfit! Love the stripes with the sleeveless trench! See you tonight!
This is such a cute outfit, as usual. I love your sleeveless trench and kinda wish I'd bought one earlier in the summer. That background is a beautiful backdrop for your simple, yet chic outfit.
Great classic look! I especially like the trench.
When I first started blogging, I'd post an outfit the day after I wore it. I have to admit that in a way it made me feel like I was in high school again - doing homework at the last minute. My new approach is less stressful! :)
Thanks, Marissa! I'm with you on stripes and military inspired pieces - it's a timeless combination!
Thanks, Emily! And the trench with just the shoes - flasher chic? :)
Aww, thanks! It's not hard to find a good location for outfit pics in this city - San Francisco is so beautiful! (Can you tell I'm a bit smitten with my new city?)
Thanks! It's a great layering piece...I have to stop myself from wearing it every day!
Find an apartment in the city and my closet is your closet, friend! :)
Thank you! I missed you last night - bummer!
Thanks, Natalie! This sleeveless trench has really served me well, and at the price I snagged it for my price per wear is very low!
Thanks, Natalie! Navy and white stripes paired with khaki could never be wrong in my opinion - so classic!
Way to make an offer I can't turn down! ;)
LOL i always forget food baby when deciding to wear a bodycon, but that trench covers up for it well!
Do I see a puzzle piece around your neck? :)
Far too often I forget about my food baby! Even thought it was warm enough to go without the trench, I felt better with it on!
Indeed you do! :)
Aw, I really love this outfit!! The stripes & the sleeveless trench are so perfect together! Gorg!
I'm really liking the sleeveless trench look this season. It looks so great with that striped dress, too!
